The action packed Card and action phone game, Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle has you working with Trunks to restore the Dragon Ball timeline by collecting new characters (Good & Bad) and defeating legions of familiar foes along the way.
The gameplay in Dokkan Battle is pretty well once you get the hang of things but it isn’t perfect. Learning how to battle correctly can be hard because the tutorials themselves are very fast paced and getting stones for the summonings can be a grind especially if you don’t want to shell out $30+ for guaranteed cool characters. There are a lot of things in the game however to play through which makes the grinding and lack of a true in-depth tutorial something that doesn’t hinder the game too much once you begin to learn the ropes.
Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle has a lot of things going on to keep you coming back for more. You have the main quest, as well as special events, world tournaments, summoning, collecting new characters, etc. So no matter if you play it everyday or here and there when you have time you’ll have something fresh to go back to as well as work towards.
Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle was a blast to play right from the start. Even though the gameplay and all of the colorful icons at the beginning may throw you off at first, if you can get past that there’s a lot of depth. And also collecting new cards is always gratifying and makes the hunt for trying to get your favorite characters even more enjoyable when you actually get them.
After calculating the scores, “Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle” gets a 2.5 out of 3!
